It looks like the CTAPI driver does not accept the port value given co 
CT_init().

The reader is attached to ttyUSB0, so the port value 0x8000 (for ttyUSB0) is 
definately correct.

So I must assume a problem with the driver, or maybe the caller has 
unsufficient privileges? Under what user id does the chipcard daemon run on 
your system?
