Just an explanation of that code: I'm using Ludovic's CCID driver for my Kobil 
Kaan Advance. When I insert a German medical card (which is a memory card) 
the reader returns an error when I try to connect the card.

However, when trying multiple protocols (as the described code does) we 
eventually find a protocol which makes the Kobil connect even that kind of 
cards; thus libchipcard can use that reader to read German medical cards 
(which is required by some applications).

Unfortunately I'm no expert when it comes to the CCID driver, so the solution 
described above is the result of trial-and-error. If there is a recommended 
way to achive the same goal I would gladly implement that instead.
