The problem is that the SM readers don't read memory cards (and the KVK 
basically is a memory card).

So the reason why it doesn't work for you lies in the driver, not in 
libchipcard2.

SCM announced an additional driver for Linux which was to be able to read 
memory cards, but they never released it.

So for now only processor cards (such as GeldKarte, HBCI cards etc) work with 
this particular reader.

BTW: Their predecessors (e.g. old chipdrive micro) work with the open source 
reader of Carlos Prados, and they really read every card I tried (even I2C 
memory cards with 32 kb of capacity). However, they don't have a key pad, and 
I don't know whether they still are sold these days (known as Towitoko 
Chipdrive Micro 110).
