Thanks Brian, it turned out there was a problem with the CERT that the example code took into consideration, while I was not using an event callback. While I'm very happy with libesmtp, the documentation is a bit spartan IMHO. What do you think about setting up a wiki that could cover common uses of the lib with sample code? I'd volunteer to help to have something like this.
