Are you saying that your systems mess up the time even when you aren't 
running clockspeed? Or are you saying that your clockspeed scripts are 
messing up the time no matter how long you set them to sleep?

What happens when you disable the someclock script and just run the
clockspeed script without any calls to clockadd? You can check to see if
clockspeed starts correctly without any automated adjustments. In 
theory, that shouldn't change the time at all.

I'm interested in seeing you isolate which part of which script causes
the problem. Someone may be able to suggest a workaround for that
specific action on your systems.
