I believe the better way for you is to create a USB Composite
Device with one of the interfaces as a custom USB device and use
the libusbK API (or libusb-1.0 API). You can keep the other interface
as the USB Audio Device and keep using the original Windows driver
(USBAudio.sys).

The extra function (say FW upgrade) can be implemented in the
custom USB device interface.
