Can you also execute the program control_get_firmware.py?
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pcsclite/PCSC.git/tree/UnitaryTests/control=
_get_firmware.py

That will return the exact reader firmware version.

You will have to install the Debian package python-pyscard (or
python3-pyscard) first.
