HP Keyboard reader suddenly doesn't work anymore

Hi,

I have been using my HP SmartCard Keyboard with Opensuse Linux quite a
while now. The PIN entry *did* go through the host (text entry field
opened instead of just a notifier as it appears with my ReinerSCT
reader), but it worked. I used it with my Finnish FINeID card for all
kinds of authentication and signature stuff.

Then, suddenly, from one minute to another, it stopped working. Now all
I get is what you can see in the logs...
I do have my ReinerSCT reader, which works ok, but that thing is
annoying because it drops the session after a while and I also use the
card for session authentication for web apps - which then don't work
anymore. I'm planning to use the card also for KDE authentication and
then, the session drops would be more than unpractical, so if possible,
I'd like my HP Keyboard Reader back in operation :).

I'd be grateful for any assistance!
