Storing extra certificates on cards

Hi,

as mentioned before, I have a Finnish personal identity card with
certificates. According to the VRK, one can store additional
data/certificates on that card with "appropriate software".

Has anyone looked into that? As I understand, the current cards are
ISO-compliant and they work fine with opensc-pkcs11.
