loopback interface

Hi again,

Background: I'm working on a patch for JOAL (jogamp.org) to add some 
extension interface support.  Primarily I was interested in extending it 
to access the loopback device.

Before I clean up the patch and submit it to JOAL, I was wondering: Is 
this loopback-device interface likely to remain basically the same for 
the foreseeable future, and be included in the next openal-soft release?

And in a related query, is the next release likely to happen sometime 
before the foreseeable future arrives? :)
