A quick release to get the latest changes out there:

Changes include:

~ support and tests for optimized stack use

~ pthread_getattr_np now works for the initial thread

  NB: it is necessary to have a stack ulimit != unlimited.  Otherwise
  there's no way to determine the stack limits.
