NPTL state for non-Intel machines

  I remember reading somewhere about NPTL being dependent for TLS
implmentation on some features of ABI for Intel CPUs. What is current
state of NPTL with other CPU's and generally platforms, like AMD's CPUs
(32 and 64bit) and Alpha's, StrongARM and other Linux supportd
platforms?
