Debug assertion when using HTML lexer

I am not sure if this is a bug or something that I have not catered for.

But something I notice when running my app in debug mode for xml file:

It is when I type <! and then the assert. If I hit ignore:
[image: image003.png]
I tried SciTE and it highlights in red too:

[image: Snap1.bmp]
My build behaves in the same way when I use release build. It is just debug 
build that gives me this popup. Here is another screen grab showing the 
assertion:
