I didn't find anything useful.  After re-writing much of it in
my vocal2 effort, I still am vague on much of it.  If you have
a particular question I can probably provide an answer for you
though...

The vocal2 code now has the 'gua' soft phone stable, which means that
at least most of the SIP stack is stable.  I haven't gotten the rest
of the servers completely finished though...and I am not sure I will finish
as I believe Asterisk will handle my immediate needs.


There is a book from O'Reilly called 'Practical VoIP' that has some
good general code descriptions, but it is a bit outdated.  It does
give some arguments for some of the more twisted design decisions
in VOCAL, but I can't say I agree with all of them :)
