./configuRe: line 5007: `AM_PATH_GTK(1.2.0, ,

I'm trying to install the Vocal project from source and have
encountered a few errors. I've got through a few but this one has me
stumped. So any learned people out there with a clue about this one.

Basically in ./sip/gua/gui I'm running the ./configure script and get
the above error.

./configure: line 5007: syntax error near unexpected token `1.2.0,'
./configure: line 5007: `AM_PATH_GTK(1.2.0, ,'

GTK is installed on this system and I searched and found a few similar
errors but can't seem to find a solution to my proble.

Please get in touch if anybody has seen this error and has some idea
how to fix it.
