It's probably not going to change anything, as wxDFB has hardly been
changed since then, but there is really, really no reason whatsoever to be
using 3.1.5 right now. Please use 3.2.3 or the latest master.

Sorry, wxDFB is very outdated and unmaintained so I can't tell you why it
doesn't work for you. The last time I tried it it did show the window, but
it had plenty of problems. Maybe something broke it further since then...
In any case, if you really want to use wxDFB, you need to be ready to debug
and fix problems in it yourself.
Otherwise, please use wxGTK under Linux which is actually supported.
