Using a generic control where the native one is default

Hi,
is there a (simple and supported) way of using (also) the generic version
of a control on the platform where the native control is used by default
(aside from wxGenericStatic{Bitmap|Text})?
I am interested in generic wxListCtrl on Windows in particular.
