Alexander, I have been using your recent XRC additions to use .XRC files as
I convert my app's UI from SWF to wxWidgets. Many things.
For anyone who hasn't tried it yet, Alexander added the optional wx.Widgets
wxXmlResource class (see http://tinyurl.com/2cynv) to wx.NET. There is a new
sample Xrc which is a port of the wx.Widgets sample. wxXmlResource is still
considered "experimental" by the wxWidgets folks but it seems stable enough
to me.
So given this I'm curious if/why you would prefer this Wxg2wxnet route vs.
just reading in XRC files. I guess two possible benefits:
+ Slightly faster startup
+ A little code security -- your UI definition is not hanging
out in config files and can be obfuscated if you use an assembly
obfuscator
But why not create a XRC->C# util instead? wxGlade can write this format and
so can most other wxWidgets UI builders.
