I think a better approach may be to modify, or extend, the wxXmlResource
C++ class to handle this.  The advantage in doing it this way is that
updates to wxXmlResource (such as theming, and other updates, or whatever
they may be working on) will automagically be present in wx.NET.

I will look into this approach further next week, since I have a need for
this functionality as well.
