Mono beta1

Did anybody here get Mono beta1 running on a non rpm system like Debian
???

I tried about 3 hours to get things running. mono itself was no problem
( although wx.NET doesn't compile anymore with beta1, didn't look into
it because I switched back to 0.31...), but for example monodoc can not
be compiled, because somewhere in the code it references to
../../mcs/errors and, err, as it was a release tar.gz package, and I do
not have mono cvs, err...
An other thing is the newly introduced mono GAC. Again, when
compiling/making monodoc it doesn't find gtk-sharp.dll, glib-sharp.dll,
etc. Hey, they are in the GAC, I installed gtk-sharp-0.91 and yes, the
libs are not in /usr/lib anymore, they are in /usr/lib/mono/GAC... But
monodoc-0.15 refuses to look into the GAC. They have to be in lib,
grrr...
Well, finally I removed every little mono piece from my machine and got
back to 0.31.2 and everything runs fine again...

Greetings
Alexander Olk
