Thanks for the tip, that's exactly what I've tried and it didn't help.

It's been a long path to find out that Microsoft does not distribute
msvcr71.dll with the new .NET framework so the "missing dll" wasn't
really about the wx-c itself but rather about it's dependency. It used
to work with 1.1 framework since it was linked to msvcr70.dll which is
included. Simply downloading the mentioned dll and putting it to
windows/system32 solved the problem.

Still, I had to install mono to tell me which dll is missing. Oh, how I
hate these MS products :-(.
