A practical workaround is for module developers to add a self-closing seg element <seg/> into each such empty verse, especially verse 1 of a chapter!!!

This fixes the problem with front-ends such as Xiphos being unable to select the chapter with a missing verse 1, nor to scroll past such a chapter.

It's also completely harmless! 😎

This workaround has been successfully implemented in the latest update of module LXX version 3.1 now in CrossWire Beta.

Best regards,

David
