 A very good question. Obviously the practical answer is not really. Currently Stefan, gulikoza, and Orion are active committers to the SVN base, and a HUGE THANK YOU to the three of them. 

Logwatch is at that state where it is pretty mature, most the features that were required are in and now it's just a matter of tweaking a filters and reacting to new services. With the ignore.conf many people are able to just filter out the noise with out having to hack at the scripts at all. The founder Kirk and many of the original developers have long since fallen silent, myself included. It does what it was built to do and the distros do a pretty good job of patching it on their release cycles.... [Fedora and Debian spring to mind at once, again Thanks Willi and the folks at RedHat.]

 However! The project could always use new developers who are interested in committing and pushing it forward. So if you, or anyone else, is interesting and have the motivation let me know and we'll get you proper access. The biggest caveat to patching Logwatch is MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT BREAK OLDER OS's. I myself just recently turned off some Solaris 9 installs and still have some Redhat 4 installs still running. Logwatch is and has been doing its job on these boxes for a long time and we want to keep it that way. So patches need to be double checked against other distro, and flavors of Unix.
