Sure thing; I'm running ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS,
OpenSSH_6.6.1p1 Ubuntu-2ubuntu2.8, OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014

In /var/log/auth.log, I see messages like this

Jan  6 10:27:31 localhost sshd[20662]: message repeated 5 times: [ Failed
password for sshd from 185.159.37.3 port 49969 ssh2]

It has actually decreased in frequency lately but I did see one 3 days ago.
