Re: Trouble with startup disk and the boot chooser.

Nothing has changed in the OS or firmware.  Zap your PRAM and try again.  

If that doesn't work, plug in a USB keyboard and see if maybe the bootloader likes the option key on that keyboard better than the built-in one.
