Element numbering

I am using a python script to mesh a part. I have partitioned the part say a cube into three partitions. The challenge I have is that I want the element numbering to start from a particular partition, in this case the middle partition. But I having difficulty achieving that. I would greatly appreciate any help on how to achieve this.
