Hybrids:
Always use when the material is incompressible or almost so (poisson's ratio > 0.45)
May be helpful when plastic deformation is large since plasticity conserves volume (in metals).
Reduced:
In quadratic elements mainly helpful to save computing time, accuracy is usually not affected much...
In linear elements, may be used in bending problems where
fully-integrated elements suffer from shear locking, but reduced
linear elements are prone to hourglassing.
Good reference for beginners is the getting-started manual.
