integrate(1/x,x=1..t, "noPole")

tells the integrate function not to worry about poles. 

Adding assumptions about values of symbols needs to be done at a fairly 
fundamental level in many places in the Axiom library.

I recall an attempt by Prof Davenport of Bath University but I can't track it 
down (or I am going senile).
