IEEE Fellow and ACM Distinguished Scientist

Dear Colleagues,

I have two great news to share:

Umit V. Catalyurek has been elevated to IEEE Fellow with a citation "for contributions to combinatorial scientific computing and parallel computing".  Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients for elevation to IEEE Fellow. Less than 0.1% of voting members are selected annually for this member grade elevation.

Ali Pinar has been named ACM Distinguished Scientist. This attests his 
great contributions to the advancement of the science of computing, and to building the knowledge base within the field of computer science.

Congratulations to Umit and Ali for the recognition.
