Dear Colleagues,


SIAM CSC20 provides a top-tier forum for presenting original research on th=
e design, implementation, application, and evaluation of combinatorial algo=
rithms and data structures that arise from problems in computational scienc=
e, computational engineering, and data science.  The conference will be hel=
d February 11-13, 2020, Seattle, Washington, U.S. It will be co-located wit=
h SIAM PP20 conference, February 12-15, 2020.


Research in CSC involves identifying a scientific computing problem arising=
 in a relevant application area, representing this problem using a combinat=
orial or graph model, describing  the corresponding graph problem, finding =
an algorithmic approach to its solution, and carrying out a theoretical and=
/or experimental analysis of the approach. Contributions involving any aspe=
ct of this workflow are welcome.


Authors are invited to submit both full papers and extended abstracts. All =
submissions must present original unpublished research. Full papers may be =
up to 10 pages in length. The accepted full papers will be included in the =
proceedings published by SIAM (the same publishing platform is used by SODA=
, ALENEX, ANALCO, etc.). The proceedings of the previous workshop, CSC18, a=
re at

Short abstracts could be up to 2 pages in length and should describe prelim=
inary results for presentation as talks at the workshop,  but these abstrac=
ts will not be included in the proceedings. Submissions should use the LaTe=

(authors using other software should adhere to the same double-column 11pt =
format).

Additionally poster presentations are also welcome, and abstracts for these=
 will be solicited at a future date.

As in the past, CSC20 will award a prize for the best proceedings paper.

ing (but not limited to):

* Combinatorial (discrete) models in scientific computing

* Graph and hypergraph algorithms in scientific computing

* Sparse matrix computations

* Combinatorial problems in data science and network science

* Combinatorial problems in Algorithmic Differentiation

* Applications of combinatorial scientific computing

* Randomized matrix computations

* Streaming algorithms for combinatorial and numerical problems

* Combinatorial problems in analyzing data stemming from scientific computa=
tions

* Numerical methods for solving combinatorial problems

* Analysis of large complex graphs

* Statistical and machine learning methods for solving combinatorial proble=
ms.

* The interaction between algorithms in these areas and modern computing pl=
atforms, including challenges arising from memory hierarchies, novel memory=
 technologies, and parallelism ranging from instruction-level and multi-cor=
e all the way to clouds and exascale.
