Dear Colleagues,

Let me add my New Year greetings to all too.
Thanks for Michele's suggestion, and for Andrei's input.

Maintaining a preprint repository might have copyright implications,
once the paper is accepted in a journal.
There are also technical issues in maintaining a digital library
that we need to educate ourselves about.
I will discuss this latter issue with the digital library group at ODU.
I would welcome input from others who have had experience
with the issues concerned about maintaining a preprint repository.

Meanwhile, here are some immediate solutions:
1. Send a message
to the group about your reprint and a URL where it can be accessed.
You could do this also for a paper written by some one else
that might be of interest to the group.
I do not think we are in any danger of having too many messages
at this stage, but in that eventuality,
there is a digest option in the listserv that you can set for yourself
to get messages once a day in a digest format.

2. Another option is for me to collect such messages (sent to me),
and post a message once a month
about new papers written by our community members.

3. If you send me a URL for a page from where your papers can be
accessed,
I could include them in a message to all on the csc list.
Since the message will be archived, it could be accessed at
the convenience of the members of the listserv.
