Meaning of module translated-packages?

Does any one know why the module “translated-packages” is called that? 
I’m just mostly curious about the name. What is being translated? The 
original papers? Something else?

At the very least it seems hypeo.lisp, hyp.lisp, hypergeometric.lisp and 
nfloat.lisp could be moved to a new module named “hypergeometric”. Maybe 
plot.lisp could be it’s own module or maybe part of graphics-drivers?
