Nice!! I think this is just what we need. I myself just finished a GR course at the university of ottawa and thought Maxima's tensor packages would be great to use, if only I had the time to get the hang of them. > On May 11, 2026, at 15:42, Dr. Wolfgang Lindner <[email protected]> wrote: > > Dear Maxima list, > > I have written a booklet on Tensor Calculus. > > The title is: > > Tensor Calculus. > A gentle Introduction using the tensor packages of Maxima. > > The link is: https://lindnerdrwg.github.io/TensorCalculus.pdf > > An abstract could be: > " > This booklet guides you through your first steps into tensor calculus, using numerous examples done with Maxima, specifically featuring the tensor packages itensor and ctensor. Treated are coordinate systems, the metric tensor, Kronecker delta, permutation tensor, contraction, Levi-Civita and Christoffel symbols. The reader benefits in particular from significant contributions by Viktor Toth. > „ > > It would be very nice if this booklet were made available in the document > collection on the Maximal homepage. > > Best regards > Wolfgang Lindner > _______________________________________________ > Maxima-discuss mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/maxima-discuss _______________________________________________ Maxima-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/maxima-discuss
