Version 5.50?

Dear all,

Is there any appetite for a new release? I note that there have been a 
lot of recent bug fixes that may justify bumping up the version number.

I checked the build process and beyond minor glitches, nothing is broken 
(good!) except for one thing: the Russian-language info files do not 
build as they reference files from the English version that have since 
acquired changed dependencies. I can solve this for now by temporarily 
disabling the build in doc/info/ru altogether (so that we can build a 
distribution -- the Russian source files are still included in the 
resulting source RPM, it's just to prevent make dist-gzip from 
complaining/failing), but ultimately this will need to be looked at, 
preferably by someone more fluent in Russian than I am.

Anyhow, please let me know. Also, please take a peek at the ChangeLog, 
to make sure it is up-to-date.
