I dunno, if one can read compressed files, it's not much of a leap
that someone is going to want to write them ... it's a slippery slope
of the kind I might find myself on.

Well, FWIW I use the info documentation all the time via ? and ??.

I'm having second thoughts about importing the source code -- chipz is
about 3000 LOC and salza2 is another 1600 or so. I'd rather import it
into the build on demand. Yes, that implies a separate conversation
about how to make that happen.
