The wxMaxima team is looking forward to the new release and has setup a ci job that every week compiles the newest Maxima release into a snap (basically Maxima and all it's dependencies in what 10 years ago would be named a zip file and today would be named a container or lightweight VM) that can easily be installed on most Linux systems. Kind regards, Gunter.
