Well, it doesn't take all that long to build Maxima 5.50.0 on RPi4:

sbcl --version
SBCL 2.5.2.debian

time make:

real 5m28.001s
user 5m11.044s
sys 0m16.536s

time make check:

real 10m44.421s
user 10m31.300s
sys 0m12.329s

make check finds one test failure: 'rtest_simplex'.

Maxima doesn't have any C code, so this is probably a bug in GCL. Camm Maguire usually reads this mailing list, too.

On various flavors of raspberry pi (latest version Trixie), maxima (5.47) installs, but won't run:

 maxima --version
The assertion !madvise(m,p2,MADV_HUGEPAGE) on line 67 of o/msbrk.c in function msbrk failed: Invalid argumentAborted

(Wolfram Mathematica does run... :-)
