crash with example file

Running the latest tochnog_linux-64 on Kubuntu 13.04 x86_64

This example...

...runs for a while (maybe 30 minutes or so), then the whole computer is 
frozen. It's unresponsive to keyboard input. The display is frozen. The 
last thing I see on the system monitors is a large CPU and RAM usage.

Any idea why this would happen?
