learning about "microkernel" based OS

hai all,

i asked a a similar question but this time my question is 50% different.

 Is "L4Ka::Pistachio" is a beginner's way to learn about "microkernel
archictecture" & "microkernel based OSs" ?    (i am a beginner to OS
development & programming)
