RE: failed to build pistachio

That sounds like a simple problem of grub having no configuration to boot.
Either it can't find it, or was never told to find it. You can however tell
it in various ways where to actually find it. Then you can boot "it."

Absolutely right!

I was able to build ia32-kernel (pistachio) in ia32-kernel-build and
some utilities in ia32-user-build directory.

I finally created a disk image for booting with qemu. Everything looks
fine. I didn't see any errors while setting grub and creating a disk
image.


I'm now wondering if it's right or not showing the following message
after boot-up.

If I type 'boot' on the 'grub >' prompt, it says :

Error 8: Kernel must be loaded before booting.



It sounds a bit weird. I expected the similar situation that I saw in
hello-world project, jumping into kernel-debugger. I also turned on
kernel debugger options including '>[Y]      Enter kernel debugger on
startup'.

Isn't it enough to enter debugger mode? Otherwise, did i do something
wrong when setting grub? I mean wrong entry-point in grub?



I'd like to know what's correct when loaded kickstart, sigma0 and
pingpong.

versions may have problems with the current CVS tree.
