Hello Jan, I don't know how to retrieve the instruction, could you please explain me how to do it in the kernel debugger? I didn't compiled for P4 machine, but for P1. I tried again with P2/P3 (i686) but I have the same problem, at a different address though. (f0123000: invalid opcode at IP f011600b) Thanks On Fri, Sep 5, 2008 at 2:07 PM, Jan Stoess <[email protected]> wrote: > Did you have a look which instruction (0xf01139d9) caused the error? If it's a rdmsr or wrmsr instruction, the problem might be that you have compiled the kernel for P4 machines; qemu needs a P3 kernel, however. > > -Jan > -- > Jan Stoess > System Architecture Group > University of Karlsruhe > Phone: +49 (721) 608-4056 > Fax: +49 (721) 608-7664 > eMail: [email protected]
