RE: Status of VMI support in L4

Afterburner is still alive and maintained (in the weak sense of maintained by researchers for their own projects), look at

L4+VMI+Linux has not been used for long time, however. We use a custom patch similar to VMI concept-wise to make Linux virtualization aware. But porting, e.g., paravirt_ops or VMI and a recent Linux kernel to L4Ka is a matter of engineering, all the virtualization and emulation is basically there.

If you only aim to run Linux on top of L4, I'd also refer you to projects of other institutions such as
