Hello Everyone, My name is Sam King and I am a professor at the University of Illinois. My students and I have a paper in the upcoming OSDI conference (the top OS conference) where we use L4Ka::Pistachio as a starting point for our new OS. You may have seen a few patches from me or from my students (Shuo Tang and Haohui Mai) and you will see a few more depending on how much things have changed since the last time we updated the code. I wanted to let you know how positive our experience was with the L4Ka::Pistachio code was and how thankful we are that this project exists -- creating our own OS without using L4Ka as a starting point would have been a much more difficult endeavor. We found the L4Ka code to be clean, easy to understand, and easy to modify, and will continue using it for our future research projects. In case you are interested, here is a pointer to our paper: http://www.cs.uiuc.edu/homes/kingst/Research_files/tang10_1.pdf Cheers, Sam
