As to 0x11f:

this is what crt0-powerpc.S says, so that's probably one of the many differ=
ences to Book-E.
As to spin_secondary:
I haven't written this piece of code but my guess is that spin_secondary pu=
ts secondary processors, which apparently fall into that code as well, into=
sleep mode, until they are eventually woken up by the kernel again. So tha=
t's why you can't get out of spin_secondary until the kernel sets some magi=
c variable.
But then again, that code should never be called on the bootstrap processor=
, right?
As to booting from your particular machine:
is psim sufficiently similar to your hardware? Then, why not simply use u-b=
oot and try to mimic the same setup as in psim?
