Here we agree. A parameter space with modifiable assumptions and the 
ability to project forward in time probably is a better description of what 
we're doing.

As to the "we" this also includes a colleague Goeff Parker who is a co-PI 
on an NSF grant IIS-0338662.  There's also a discussion group dedicated to 
this topic specifically at the Creative Commons (cc-bizcom) but there's 
been no traffic there lately.  Been better discussion here!
