Software developers don't write software so that others can profit from
it. They do it because THEY profit from it, and sometimes this is in a
financial sense. I would hope that if you are profiting off of the work
of someone else that they would get something in return from you.

Suddenly we're back to software as a service for developers, and a
commodity for middle-men. No wonder there's always disagreement.
