Yes, that sounds insanely useful. By VDR do you mean this:

I also don't need scheduling, as I use MythTV (in likely the same way 
you're using VDR).


So what you're doing is taking the XML from SchedulesDirect, copying it 
over to MH, and then using xsltv to display the data in MH with a link 
to the xsltv script's output?
