That's exactly where I stand too. I spent many days writing very custom
code for my house that I have 0 interest rewriting in another language.

That said, it's also true that mh is a bit of a dying project and there
are newer alternatives with other programming languages and fancier UIs.

I'd say that it's fine to have them side by side. New users will use
newer projects, and honestly that's fine.
No one is paid to work on MH, and if it slowly dies out over time, there
is nothing really wrong with that as long as it keeps working for its
existing users who aren't interested in switching to new projects.
