[mh] JSON returns no data?

Hi All

I’m playing with the idea of a Ruby on Rails application that acts as a front end for MH. I’m trying to see what data I can suck out of MH using the JSON commands, but I keep getting  (like on many web interface commands) “The last command returned no data” (paraphrasing as I’m away from my PC). 

When I call http://localhost:8080/sub?json(<anything>)  I get the aforementioned message. 

Is something not authenticated properly?
