  I’m the one who put the razberry module together so hopefully can answer your questions.

1. I haven’t heard of this. From my experience, you have to put the razberry into ‘inclusion mode’ in order to add in new nodes/broadcast. The Razberry MH module talks to the z-way-server API, so it does need to be up for the integration to work. What version of zwave are you using? Maybe a change was introduced at some point. I’ll check the version I have installed when I get home.
2. I’m just using the internal antenna. Range is ok, however there are some further nodes that it has trouble reaching. I bought an Aeotec extender and that seems to have fixed the problem.
3. I’ve used the old admin interface to add devices, put the device in inclusion mode and then whatever instructions to put the device in pairing mode. zwave does an ‘interview’ of the device to get all of its settings, I’ve noticed with some devices that the interview doesn’t work, and I have to then exclude it and then reinclude it. Some battery operated remotes took up to 10 attempts to get it to pair successfully.

I’ve published a razberry plug-in called HTTP device, or something like that. the HTTP device allows for push support, so that as soon as a local device changes state MH is updated instead of waiting on a polling process. I’ve found this to be quite reliable. I’ve recently updated the razberry module, and I think I’ve included it in Hollie master.
